The OMER: A revolution in heavy-duty truck lifts

Written on February 2, 2012 at 12:48 am, by admin

The flexibility, innovative design and reliability of the OMER Lift make it an essential piece of equipment for every 21st Century workshop. But what difference will the OMER truck lift make to YOUR workshop?

We’ve outlined the key benefits below…

The truck lift’s ‘free runway’ design gives easy access to EVERY part of the vehicle

The OMER Lift’s unique design (with no base between the legs and no mechanical connection between the runways) gives the operator maximum freedom of movement when carrying out repairs and maintenance. This means you can easily access every part of the truck or bus without obstruction, and get the job done quickly.

The two sides of the OMER truck lift are not mechanically joined — instead they are electronically synchronised to operate at the same rate. Photo sensors are used to consistently measure the rate at which the two runways are moving, to ensure that they raise and lower at the same height — every time.

With the OMER truck lift, you can service even the biggest vehicles

If you need to lift up a huge vehicle such as a B-double or an articulated bus, you can synchronise up to three of the OMER truck hoists — giving you a total lifting capacity of up to 105 tonne. This provides you with the flexibility you need to take on ANY job, regardless of the size of the vehicle.

Despite the length of their individual runways (each ranging from 7 to 17 metres), the aligned OMER truck lifts offer maximum safety and security due to their patented split cylinder volumetric master/slave control unit, and embossed anti-slip finish on all platform surfaces.

The OMER truck lift is available for surface mount or flush mount installation

The unique design of the OMER truck hoist means that it can be installed in-ground or above ground — whichever is best for your workshop.

If you choose to store the OMER Lift in-ground (for a completely flush workshop floor), there are optional pit cover plates that automatically rise up with the lift and cover the space below. This gives you the freedom to move around on the seamless surface under the lift — and helps prevent trips, falls, and other accidents, as well as the losing of valuable work tools.

Key reasons to include a mobile column lift in YOUR workshop

Written on December 16, 2011 at 4:34 am, by admin

Workshops can be hectic places, which is why it’s important to invest in versatile garage equipment that will make your life easier.

You may not have previously considered getting a set of mobile column lifts, but their adaptability, durability and operational ease can make them one of the most useful items in your workshop.

Unsure if mobile column hoists are right for your garage? Here are a few of their benefits…

Mobile column lifts will free up your work bays

When running a busy workshop, space is paramount. Mobile column lifts are easily stored away so they don’t take up valuable workspace when you’re not using them. And you’re able to set them up ANYWHERE, so you can turn your car park area or another empty space into a work bay if needed.

You can even add jack stands to support one vehicle, and then move the mobile column hoists over to raise another. It’s like having two pairs of lifts for the price of one!

Mobile column lifts will enable you to lift up heavy vehicles of ANY size

Of course, mobile column lifts are often used for trucks and buses. But what if you need to lift up a semi trailer or an articulated bus? Just add another set of lifts to your garage’s collection! By expanding the number of mobile column hoists you have, you’ll be prepared for anything.

Our cable-controlled mobile column lifts are synchronised to lift at exactly the same speed. The circuit connection makes it easy to add more lifts as you need them — so you can be sure ALL your mobile column lifts will work at the touch of one button.

A set of mobile column lifts gets your team out of the pit and into the fresh air

Working in the pit can be difficult and uncomfortable. Your staff members would prefer to be working above ground, where things are easier to reach and they aren’t in danger of inhaling the harmful gasses that can accumulate in a low-lying, enclosed area. With a set of mobile column hoists, it’s easy to elevate vehicles to the perfect height for maintenance.

And a few reasons why you should choose the LiftMax mobile column lift from Levanata…

    • LiftMax lifts are engineered to be incredibly light and easy to manoeuvre. They’re also designed to be extremely compact — storing one set of them takes up less than two pallet spaces!
    • Unlike some other brands of mobile column lift, the electrical components for LiftMax are available off the shelf from a range of electrical suppliers, so it’s easy to obtain spare parts.
    • The high quality engineering of LiftMax even extends to the materials used for the main screw. Cold rolled screws have been chosen over lathe cut screws, resulting in superior durability and a greatly extended service life.

3 key considerations when choosing a 2 post hoist

Written on December 15, 2011 at 12:38 am, by admin

When it comes to purchasing a two post hoist, there are many important factors to consider.

Whether it’s for a home garage or a professional workshop, your new vehicle hoist should enable you to carry out repairs quickly and safely — requiring very little maintenance throughout its life. We’ve outlined the key factors to consider when buying a 2 post hoist, to help you make your choice with confidence…

    1. When it comes to two post hoists, simplicity is key.

While sophisticated electronic controls may be appealing, it’s always better to go for mechanical operation when choosing your 2 post hoist. By purchasing a car lift with a simple operating system, you’ll get the best long-term use from your investment.

Many 2-post hoists incorporate complex systems for releasing the safety locks, however, in humid climates this can often cause the solenoids to stick, resulting in safety locks that are impossible to release. To prevent this from happening, remember the golden rule when choosing a 2 post hoist — less is more.

    2. Select a two post hoist that uses maintenance-free load bearings, rather than roller bearings.

Roller bearings need constant lubrication, and should be avoided when it comes to your vehicle lift. Maintenance-free load bearings (made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) never need lubricating, and are designed to last the entire life of the 2 post hoist. This increases efficiency and productivity within your workshop or garage, leading to faster turnaround times.

3.Ensure your 2 post hoist has low profile arms.

Australian cars are becoming increasingly lower, so if you want your vehicle lift to really stand the test of time then it’s vital that you chose one with low profile arms. If your two post hoist doesn’t have this feature, you may find that you’re unable to swing the arms under your vehicle, or even drive your car onto the lift. With low profile arms, you’ll have the capacity to service even the lowest sports car.
